Keep being amazing!  Kari

Do you believe it? 100 blocks! And to think we get to share the love on Valentine’s Day.

h-h 2

It was a little over a year ago that I was able to reveal my block to you. And so many of you shared pictures of Hand-in-Hand and seemed to really enjoy making it. Just think, 77 additional blocks have been added since this one.  WOW!

h-h 1These are just a few of the blocks from the Facebook page. You all amaze me!

Now, you’re probably here because you know about the celebratory giveaways some of us are participating in. I’m excited to show you something BRAND new. It’s a pair of trimmers called Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers and those in the US have a chance to win a set for themselves.

Slotted Trimmer package pro reduced

I prefer to trim my half-square triangles for accuracy, but I didn’t like having to realign the rulers for each side and I also didn’t want to spend the $$ for each size that was needed.

In a previous blog post, I did a tutorial on making 8 half-square triangles at a time using the Clearly Perfect Angles. I demonstrated how I would trim them before they were pressed open. But there was always a problem with these….the dog ears were left. So I had an ah-ha moment and the Slotted Trimmers were born.

Here are the instructions that come with the product. Common sense….easy peasy! One Alignment, Two Cuts, plus remove the dog ears. 11 sizes, too. What a deal.

Slotted Trimmer instructions 300 dpi

But wait, there’s more! Notice how you can create half-square triangles and other blocks by strip piecing fabric together. Did I already say, easy peasy?!?!

To enter, please leave a comment…I’m curious how many blocks you have done to this point??    I will post two winners on February 22nd. I’m sorry, but because of shipping, this contest is only open to US residents. **

  62. Ginny Chung says:

Love, loved the journey. I am no longer intimidated by PP or Applique blocks. What a great idea to do this as a great big Quilt a long. The other quilters inspired me in so many ways. 66. I truly enjoyed traveling all over the world, reading about each designer.. .their tips, challenges they over come and sharing a bit about their lives. Inspiration came from so many avenues and challenges were accepted many times over! I’ve learned a lot in my skills and enjoyed trying new methods and techniques~ I’ve only got about a 1/4 of the blocks done but truly enjoying the journey. I keep my little basket of fabrics close to the sewing machine and even travel with some to do some handwork! quiltlovefordomesticfelicity(at)gmail(dot)com
