Another branch of New Leaf Stitches

Market & Moments

How can it already be a month since market?  Jeepers time flies!

I’d like to share with you a little bit about what went on.

My main focus was on my new book, called “Just around the Corner“.  So, as you can see I had a little “corner” theme going on.  The pictures really don’t do the booth justice because it is hard to see the cute street light and street signs.

Martingale/That Patchwork Place had all kinds of events set up for me.

I didn’t know this one was being taken, but is one of the first days in Salt Lake City.  I am checking to make sure my PowerPoint presentation is ready before a Schoolhouse session.

(good thing I got those roots touched up!!)

Here is the table in the classroom they helped set up.

I also spent some time in their booth doing demonstrations on the mitering technique.  Here I am visiting with Deb from Martingale.

One of the highlights for me was taping a segment of with Jodie Davis.

Things look kind of serious in this one, but here is a lighter moment.

It’s a terrible picture of me, but Jodie is so darn cute!

My booth location was great, partly because of my fun neighbors.  Linda Hohag, from Brandywine, was on the corner right beside me.  Terry Atkinson was just one row over and Lori Smith, From My Heart to Your Hands, was right next door.  Another Minnesota designer Sherri Falls, from This and That stopped by so Linda, Sherri and I took a quick picture.

Besides the book, I introduced three new patterns at market:  Scandia Stag, Chocolate Kisses, and County Fair.  Make sure you leave a comment below and I will draw a name.  Some lucky person will win all three of the patterns!

If you’ve followed my blog you know I just celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband, Brian.   Little did we know that our children were planning a party for us.  I couldn’t figure out why they would want to come home on this particular weekend.  They said they just wanted to take us out to dinner for our anniversary.  Well…while we were at dinner they had arranged for some little elves to come to our house.  We walked into a house full of friends and family shouting surprise!

It was such a fun, fun evening.  I’m still trying to figure out how I didn’t catch on to this going on in my own house!?!?  Thank you everyone!!

Here is something I wasn’t ever sure I would see… my daughter-in-law sewing!!!  She wanted to make a skirt for our little Kendall.  (She’s actually wearing it at the party).  Annie, I am so proud of you!

You can see “County Fair” in its early stage on the design wall in the background (but I cropped out most of the rest of the mess in my studio…Yikes…it was getting close to market

Well, the studio is all cleaned and straightened.  I’m ready to get going on the next project….another book!!
